A question for those who are from worlds where space travel is possible: what do your ships look like?

Depends who built'm. You can have a big cruise-liner, looks a little like the barge; the necros liked big pillar-ships and little wing cruisers. Everyone else just has what they can slap together.

The necros?

Saiyan ships are big enough to only hold one person. Freeza's ship can hold an army, but that's fairly unusual.

I asked because I've started to understand that... this is unusual.

Most ships hold at least a crew of five. You can pilot the little ones alone, but there's room for other people. Big ships? They hold cities.

They tend to obey certain rules… particularly when you consider that the population of the barge, aside from our sudden rash of companiable fauna [That's Seven-speak for 'pets]', is entirely made up of humanoids or are capable of maintaining humanoid shape. [Not forgetting Chromie.]

A "big bug", as it's often described. Most ships are blocky and square transports. But the Lexx looks like an enormous insect.

Ships are often very round where I am from.

The Lexx is big enough to hold cities in, too. But there's only the three of us- it's mostly automated.

But there are thousands of different designs. Battleships, fighters, cargo ships, luxury cruisers and more. And each different race has its own style.

The ships I've seen are fairly different from race to race. But most of the races in the universe fight under Freeza, so it's more of a miss-match.

The pods are mass produced. There's not much room for individuality.

There's something to be said for the efficiency of mass production, especially when you need to make a lot of fighters in a hurry. But I wouldn't trade my very individual ship for anything.

You'll have to be more specific. I can demonstrate what my own people largely use, but our existence has, until recently, been a nomadic one, reliant on what can be purchased from other races. A space vehicle's hull can look like practically anything, so long as you don't require it to be aerodynamic for atmospheric use.

The most common vehicles I'm used to are single-passenger spherical ships. If it's anything like that... or completely different.
