You'll have to be more specific. I can demonstrate what my own people largely use, but our existence has, until recently, been a nomadic one, reliant on what can be purchased from other races. A space vehicle's hull can look like practically anything, so long as you don't require it to be aerodynamic for atmospheric use.

Shuttles, then. Unless used for combat?

These make up the bulk of our fleet, but many much smaller craft serve admirably.

As of latest developments, yes. Even our civilian ships have been retrofitted with enough firepower to compare with a dreadnought. Although, without the necessary armour and shielding, it's best to hold them back in support.

As I say, shape has very little bearing on function, if operating in a vacuum. Mass, however, is more of a concern.
