You'll have to be more specific. I can demonstrate what my own people largely use, but our existence has, until recently, been a nomadic one, reliant on what can be purchased from other races. A space vehicle's hull can look like practically anything, so long as you don't require it to be aerodynamic for atmospheric use.
As of latest developments, yes. Even our civilian ships have been retrofitted with enough firepower to compare with a dreadnought. Although, without the necessary armour and shielding, it's best to hold them back in support.
I'm sure I'll see ships develop that way in my own world if it comes to that.
[But considering the fact that even Freeza himself doesn't have ships with weapons like that, it makes him think. Why hasn't combat gotten to that point?]

The most common vehicles I'm used to are single-passenger spherical ships. If it's anything like that... or completely different.
