Series: Dragon Ball Z Kai
Age: 29/30
From When?: Episode 42, after Freeza shoots him in the heart
Inmate/Warden: Inmate. Where he is taken from, Vegeta is still ultimately toeing the line of villain. He made an uneasy alliance with the main characters, but it was nothing more than an act of self preservation. There was no friendship involved, and he wouldn’t ever consider it as such. Friendship is not something that has ever occurred to him, being a mercenary from a very small age.
As a warrior, it will be all but impossible for him to be taught anything about how violence is wrong, but he can learn about the value of picking his battles and choosing the side that isn’t content with murdering everyone. Vegeta needs to learn to end the loneliness that he feels by eventually reaching out to others. It’ll be a long road for him, and he’ll need someone who understands.
Item: n/a
Abilities/Powers: Bang Beam – Vegeta makes a gun shape with his fingers and produces a deadly red bolt of lightning from his index finger.
Big Bang Attack- a medium sized ball of energy thrown from Vegeta’s hand. On impact, the explosion is destructive.
Big Bang Cannon- a beam version of Big Bang Attack.
Big Bang Storm- a spray-gun type version of Big Bang Attack.

Destructo Disk – A disk-shaped energy.
Dirty Fireworks – after punching his enemy in the stomach, he raises both hands in the air, causing the enemy to explode.
Final Flash – with energy in both hands, he combines the energies into one to form a stream of energy. Performed in the air.
Final Burst Cannon – Done in the same way as Final Flash, only it’s purple.
Final Crash – Like Final Flash, only the attack is performed on the ground.
Final Galick Cannon- a rapid-fire attack before the enemy is punched in the stomach, and another beam of energy is shot through the enemy’s stomach.
Galaxy Breaker- He charges up a white energy blast from his chest before firing it at the enemy.
Galick Gun- Vegeta bends to the side, hands parallel to each other while creating purple energy that becomes a powerful beam.
Genocide Breaker – A rush attack that Vegeta uses. First, he kicks his opponent up into the air, immobilizes them with a chop to the ribs, and finally puts his hand over the opponent’s face and uses the Big Bang Cannon.
Ki Blast – the most basic energy wave.
Power Ball – a ball that imitates the effects of the full moon, affecting the Saiyan tail and allowing him to become a Great Ape.
Super Big Bank Cannon – a more powerful version of Big Bang Cannon.
Super Energy Wave Volley – a rapid fire blast of energy.
Super Explosive Wave – a more powerful version of Explosive Wave.
Vanishing Blow – Vegeta charges his energy, releasing it into a blue wave of energy for large damage.
Flight- self explanatory. He can fly with the use of energy.
Telekinesis – he can hurl objects at an opponent with his energy. He uses it as a last ditch effort against Freeza.
Ki Sense- he can sense the energy of others. This was learnt after his fight with Goku on Earth.
Despite the grocery list of attacks, Vegeta’s power is still finite. If he over exerts himself and spends all of his energy, he will end up unable to move, let alone attack an opponent. Vegeta has a tendency to overexert himself, especially when faced with an opponent who is stronger than him and that leads him to spending his energy rather quickly. As reckless as he is, this is a problem for him because he doesn’t want to admit that he isn’t as strong of a fighter as he likes to consider himself.
When an enemy who is stronger than him uses an attack, he isn’t necessarily going to be able to block it, and will usually end up taking it head on. He has speed and hearing above that of a human, but he can still be taken by surprise.
Personality: Vegeta is a proud and arrogant man. Despite spending most of his life under Freeza’s thumb, he prides himself on being the Prince of Saiyans, and this is something that he takes seriously. Longing to break free of the control that Freeza has on him, Vegeta showcases the Saiyan pride that his race was so well known for. Being second best is not something he will tolerate, as he believes that the Saiyan race is the most powerful in the universe. He completely ignores the fact that the Saiyan race is all but extinct, probably due to his pride. He also distances himself from everyone because of his Saiyan pride, leaving Vegeta a very lonely man.
He has a dark sense of humor that oftentimes revolves around death, commenting “filthy fireworks” upon killing his rival, Kewi. He’s not the joking type; preferring to keep his biting thoughts to himself.
He is bitter and angry at having to remain a slave of Freeza, and goes so far as to try and break free. As a young child, he was raised as the Prince of the Saiyans even while serving Freeza. Coerced into serving Freeza, Vegeta had no choice but to obey, even after his entire race was slaughtered. It created a damaging effect on his personality, and his sense of self.
Knowing that he cannot stand up to Freeza in combat, Vegeta heads to Earth upon learning about the Dragon Balls granting wishes to seek out immortality for himself. His thought process being that eventually, he would be able to defeat and kill Freeza in battle. Once strong enough to defeat Freeza, he would be the strongest in the universe. At least, that was his initial reasoning for gathering the Dragon Balls.
Being the Prince of planet Vegeta, he considers himself to be above nearly everyone he encounters, and is enraged at the fact that Goku bested him in a fight, vowing to grow stronger in order to be able to defeat and kill him. Indeed, a large part of his personality is based on his desire to defeat Goku in battle. It’s not by any means the only aspect, but it is something that is very consuming for him. Learning that Goku had both forgotten the in-born Saiyan desire to fight continuously, and to conquer, he was angered that he was defeated by a low-class warrior. As part of the Saiyan pride, Vegeta has a short temper, which has gotten him into trouble more than once during fights.
Often, his pride gets in the way of him thinking things through, and that often leads him into trouble. He underestimates the strength of his opponents at times, though he is shrewd enough to realize even before learning how to read energy that power levels can be disguised. Despite this, though, when he manages to keep his arrogance under check, he is capable of formulating calculated plans.
Vegeta is a merciless fighter for much of his introduction. Seeing him as weak, he killed his companion, Nappa, without hesitation when the two of them originally came to Earth. The first time that he shows any mercy at all involves sparing the life of the Ginyu leader who ended up in the body of a frog, but even that was for reasons that had nothing to do with actual empathy. He instead found the idea of Ginyu being stuck in the body of a frog hilarious, and decided that was more than enough punishment.
Upon learning that Freeza was responsible for the annihilation of the Saiyans, Vegeta is horrified, but not for a reason of emotional attachment. Instead, his pride is damaged considerably at the idea of being used for his entire life and he becomes furious. At the time of the destruction, the Saiyans were subjects under Freeza. Freeza, fearing the Legendary Super Saiyan was more than just a tale, personally destroyed the planet. Even with this kept in mind, Vegeta was indifferent about his father’s death, and indeed the death of all Saiyans.
As a member of a warrior race, Vegeta is capable of tactical planning when he isn’t consumed by rage and he is fairly quick to improvise and come up with new techniques. While on Earth, he is able to learn how to sense energy, which allows him to stop needing to rely on the Scouter to gauge a person’s power level. This also means that he is naturally very powerful, and that he revels in getting stronger.
Very rarely, Vegeta has been brought to tears. Realizing his defeat was imminent when he fought Freeza, he cried, having lost his will to fight. Just before his death, he also gave Goku a tearful speech, telling him the truth about the destruction of the Saiyans.
Finding himself on the Barge will not please Vegeta. He will be angry, hostile, and more than likely violent. Finding most of his powers gone will be a slap in the face, and will wound his pride to the point of anger.
Path to Redemption: Within the series, both in the full version and the Kai cut, Vegeta finds his path to redemption and ends up settling down to start a family, ending his revenge-driven goal of defeating Goku. However, where Vegeta is being taken from, he’s not very close to his canon redemption. Without the woman who will become his wife with him, or his two children, he will be forced to take a very different route towards redemption. Friendship will be a key thing for him to learn, as will learning how to manage his temper.
Vegeta is a bitterly lonely man, being one of the last of his race. He doesn’t miss his parents, or even really care that nearly all of the Saiyans are dead, but he does have his pride that he extends to the Saiyan race. Having someone there to help him out and understand this will be key. Being very aloof and at times standoffish will mean that someone who is as stubborn as he is will be his best bet to coming out of his shell, so to speak.
He will always be most comfortable on his own, and he will try and avoid large groups, but Vegeta can learn, eventually, to be able to blend in with humans completely. He won’t have the desire to wipe out humanity, and indeed he will want to defend it, and defend those closest to him. Always the warrior, he needs to learn to re-direct his aggression in order for him to start to be redeemed.
History: http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Vegeta
Sample Journal Entry: This… this is ridiculous! I won’t allow myself to be treated like some low-class warrior. Show yourself! What sort of technology do you possess that you could take the Saiyan prince by surprise? How did you bring me here without my injuries!
Answer me, you fools!
…god damn it, Kakarot! Where are you?!
Sample RP: He had been very near death, unable to move due to terror coursing through his veins— not that he would admit such a thing except in private, though it had been clear to all of the witnesses to the battle. His armor was in tatters, and there was still the hole in his armor over his heart. Proof enough that he had been fatally wounded, even if he wasn’t struggling to stay conscious anymore.
Had it been the Dragon Balls? Not that that made sense in the least. It couldn’t have been the Dragon Balls. They weren’t that powerful, were they?
Besides that, this wasn’t Namek. This looked more like a space ship. Not a planet, and not the cramped quarters of a space ship that he was used to. He couldn’t sense a single ki, even though both Kakarot and Freeza had been frighteningly powerful at a glance. It was enraging, frustrating. He had known all along that taking on Freeza had been a losing battle; but to see Kakarot so much stronger now, that had been a blow, even as he lay dying.
Damn that low class warrior for getting so strong, damn him! Somehow, this was Kakarot’s fault.
But he had been there; powerful enough to become the Super Saiyan that Freeza had feared so much. He had become the one who would be able to get the revenge that Vegeta so longed for and he wouldn’t be able to be on the planet to see Freeza die. He had to get back. He’d find out how he had come to this planet, and he would go back! He had to. It was the only way he would be able to defeat Kakarot now.
He’d find his way back. Whatever this place was, he’d find his way back. No matter who he had to kill, who he had to threaten, he would return. Once Kakarot had defeated Freeza, Vegeta would take his chance then to attack. Kakarot wouldn’t be able to defeat him after two consecutive defeats, not like this. Vegeta would finally have the upper hand! Now, all he had to do was get back. He’d become stronger, he’d fight as many people as he could, being close to death every time in order to maximize his strength. It was the perfect way to ensure a flawless victory.
Special Notes: I was considering just having him keep the sense ki ability and flight, which would involve a permissions post for the former, but if there are other abilities I can have him keep within reason (or if these are too powerful of an ability), please let me know. His flight would be severely limited and draining, and he would not be able to fly indefinitely like he does in the show.
